Magazine Design

I worked on redesigning an 8 page magazine article on female surfing whilst I was studying Graphic Design at Art Center College of Design. This project is illustrative. I also created infographics to provide clarity on surfer wage comparisons.

Educational Outreach Material

I designed worksheets for a 5th grade Atmospheric Chemistry outreach program in collaboration with the Okumura group at Caltech.

I created all original graphics and “characters” using Illustrator. I tried to keep the graphics in black and white to economize and so pages can be photocopied easily.

I typeset the document in MS Word so teachers could edit the worksheets.

I worked closely with graduate students to accurately convey the scientific message of the outreach program, making the content suitable and understandable by 5th graders.

My previous teaching assistant experience, knowledge of design psychology and educational theory helped me produce accessible content for the children.
